Our Story
Our names Papoose originates from the native tongue of the Narragansett tribe of indigenous Americans meaning ‘child’.
Our name connotes our story and what our business is all about.
When we manufacture our products our focus is on children around the world and on bringing a smile to their little faces wherever they maybe.
Our production Facility
Our production facility is tucked away in the lush greenery of suburban Sri Lanka 30 km from the Capital City Colombo.
Located in a half an acre of land our facility consists of state of the art wood working equipment.
The design development, manufacturing, quality assurance and packaging processes are executed at the production facility.
Our Ethos
Quality and Safety Standards
Our products are manufactured with non-toxic lead-free child-safe materials meeting stringent International quality standards ensuring that the smiles we spread last well into adulthood.
All products are routinely tested to check compliance with the EN 71 standards the European Toy Safety standard.
The wood used in the manufacturing process is selected and/or treated to ensure there is no warping, cracking or disfigurement in any way, in any climate.
Research & development plays an important role in the design process and takes into consideration safety concern and value-added functionality, to ensure that only the best reaches the children. Field tests are conducted to monitor children’s behavior. Details of the various designs are then altered in accordance to studying children’s responses and the analysis obtained from real-life scenarios.
Environment
All our raw material is sourced to the Agalawatta Plantation which is Forest Stewardship Council compliant. So Papoose Toys don’t come to your child at the cost of his future.
